Donna Griffin Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mrs. Donna Jean Griffin, age 66, of Maysville, GA died Saturday July 11, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Griffin was born in Cook County Illinois to the late, Bill and Ruth Schwarts Cox. Mrs. Griffin was retired from the Banks County Department of Family and Children Service. Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her husband Barney Griffin, son, Calvin Griffin, and grandsons, Riley and Tyler Griffin.Mrs. Griffin was a foster parent and over the years she had 28 foster children. She was a missionary child were she grew up in Africa. She and her husband pastored several churches and her main purpose in life was to serve the Lord.Mrs. Griffin is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Matthew and Christy Griffin of Maysville, GA, son, Jeremy Griffin of New Mexico, daughters; Cindy Bartow, Angela Mason, Becky Plemmons, and Teresa Yale all of Ashville, NC, and Elizabeth Wilson of Commerce, GA, brother Bill Cox Jr. of Des Moines IA, ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.Funeral service will be Monday 2:00 PM from the Grove Level Baptist Church Chantry with the Rev. Jeff Appling and Rev. John Wood officiating with the interment following at Sunrise Cemetery.
