Gary Steenberg Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mr. Gary Stephen Steenberg, 64, of Keokuk, IA died Friday, October 15, 2010 at his daughter’s home in Georgia. Gary was born on July 14, 1946, in Keokuk, the son of the late Clayton and Retha Brice Steenberg. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jean Curfman Steenberg. They married on November 14, 1965, in Keokuk, IA. Gary went to Lincoln Electric Company Welding School for his Basic, Advance sheet metal welding in 1966. Gary was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Keokuk. He was also the President of C.C. Riders M.C. Gary was a union Millwright/certified welder and owner of G & J Cycle until 2007. Some of the highlights of his life were with his grandchildren and his biker family. He liked riding, going to flea markets, fishing, collecting and restoring Stihl chain saws and Zebco one fishing reels.In addition to his wife, Gary is survived by his precious daughter, Wendy Toll and her husband, Bob of Danielsville, GA; two granddaughters, Stephanie and Jamie O’Hara and one grandson, Colin Toll all of Danielsville, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Jerry McDeid of Warsaw, IL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clayton and Teri Steenberg, Jr. of Bullhead City, AZ and Mike and Laura Steenberg of Keokuk, IA; and many nieces and nephews.The family will meet with friends at “A Celebration of Life” on Friday, October 29 from 3 to 6 PM at Keokuk Labor Temple in Keokuk, IA.
