Mrs. Carrie Cecil Norman
September 27, 1926 - September 29, 2021
Carrie Cecil Reese Norman passed from this life to her eternal reward on September 29, 2021, at the age of 95. She was surrounded by family at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Tim and Allison Kinzel in Maysville, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Morris Dupree Norman; brothers, Peyton Bailey Reese and Claude Marshall Reese; granddaughter, Haley Rachel Pope; and great-granddaughter, Scout Reese McCauley. She grew up in Hendersonville, Tennessee, where she enjoyed small town life. She excelled academically, and was spelling bee champion and valedictorian of her high school class. After high school she worked in Nashville for one year as a medical stenographer and went on to attend Freed-Hardeman College. This is where she met her husband, Morris. He aspired to become a preacher of the gospel, and she supported him after they married as he finished his bachelors degree at David Lipscomb College. She was at his side as he preached in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida and Ohio. They also traveled to many other states and Canada where he would preach and she would teach women's Bible classes. She really enjoyed this role. She also retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as an historian or Archivist. She is survived by her brother, Clem Allison Reese, and daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Mickey Crabtree, Mary Ann and Curtis Pope, and Allison and Tim Kinzel; as well as eleven grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and nine nieces and nephews. She was an amazing influence on so many lives and loved by so many. No services are planned at this time. Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce is in charge of arrangements.
